Star Trek Presentation Notes

·         While this one seems quite simple the thought of having a handheld telephone seemed so unrealistic during the 1960s. So, for this technology to be used in Star Trek it was a big turning point in technological history ·         While these cannot make fresh cups of tea, they do have the capabilities to create whatever is programmed into them, allowing us to make create comes to our imagination.  ·         This is a very commonly used one these days especially during times like Covid this one was very heavily depended on.  ·         While there is no specific device that can do this exact action, we do have many different apps that can achieve a very similar outcome. However, I don’t think they can translate alien quite yet.  ·         This one is another simple comparison; however, tablet computers were again quite unheard of for this time.  ·         While ours are definitely not as developed and as their phasers, our tasers and stun guns do the same job as their phasers on s

Interstellar Script

Shane: Hello earthlings of the 21st century! My name is Shane and I am sending a message to you from the future. In 2070, humans were forced to leave earth because the earth became inhabitable just like the film Interstellar predicted. Our new society is set on Mars because it was the most habitable planet. Members of our new society decided that we need to revert back to our old ways to prevent another apocalypse from occurring. We call our new home Project Jetson. Here at Project Jetson, men go to work every day while the women stay home and tend to our families. In our quest to find our way again, it’s nice to be able to write again like I did in college and early in my career. As my career grew, the people accustomed to newspaper or TV news died out, leaving only generations of millennials or Gen Z and younger that grew up with only generations raised with social media of the news that nobody had the attention span for any news story longer than 280 characters. I soon had to focu

Final Project Process

Image
We were at a loss at first regarding the final project. We were still determining where to begin because, up until this point, we had instructions to follow and help guide us, but we were on our own for this one. To begin, we had to decide on a movie. We were between three options, but the one we chose fit the criteria better than the others. We were between ET, The Martian, and Arrival.  We decided on Arrival because there was much more to unpack with this movie and more we could analyze after we determined the film; we had to figure out the direction we wanted to go with the project itself. So we drew up a diagram of what we wanted our poster board to model after.  Then we met and started planning it all out.  However, once we started putting all the pictures together, we felt something needed to be added to the poster. That is when we decided to paint two of the panels black to fit the project's aesthetic better.  Still, we felt as if something was missing, so after we all star

Futuristic Fashion Show

Image
I chose to make my "Futuristic Clothing Item" out of plastic bags to show that something as simple as a plastic bag can be turned into something as complex as clothing. We see and use plastic bags all of the time; when we go shopping, for garbage, for food, etc. However, it is always overlooked how these simple items can be so versatile if you just put in the time and effort.  I started by looking up inspiration for my dress; I knew I wanted to make it out of plastic, but I wasn't exactly sure what kind of pattern I wanted—then I took about 25-35 target plastic bags and cut them into thin strands. Then I knotted all those strands together and cut off the excess to try and make it look as clean as possible. Then I proceeded to weave this into a big rectangular shape and continued with this until it was big enough to be a dress. I left a good amount of excess bag to fit the dress onto myself. Then I cut up a Trader Joe's holiday bag to get the red straps that I used for

The Matrix Debate Notes

The Matrix Debate Notes   -          The blue pill is the comfortable choice, it doesn’t force people out of there comfort zones and into experiencing something entirely different, people choose to live in ignorance over living in the truth  -          The Blue Pill: it describes a continuity of the current state of life, Morpheus describes it as waking up in bed without caring for your “destiny” or such profound ideas  -          The Red pill: described as the solutions for knowing the real truth in life, Morpheus explains it as continuing into the “rabbit hole” or in other words, continuing to learn about the lies that were set in the world in order to break them and obtain freedom. Neo and company model the way good, thoughtful people are forced to operate within a bad system even after they’re aware to their faults. Their knowledge gives them the power to navigate the Matrix and, at times, bend it to their will, but while they are inside, they’re still shackled to a chair by thei
