Star Trek Presentation Notes

·
While this one seems quite simple the thought of having a handheld telephone seemed so unrealistic during the 1960s. So, for this technology to be used in Star Trek it was a big turning point in technological history

·       While these cannot make fresh cups of tea, they do have the capabilities to create whatever is programmed into them, allowing us to make create comes to our imagination.

·       This is a very commonly used one these days especially during times like Covid this one was very heavily depended on.

·       While there is no specific device that can do this exact action, we do have many different apps that can achieve a very similar outcome. However, I don’t think they can translate alien quite yet.

·       This one is another simple comparison; however, tablet computers were again quite unheard of for this time.

·       While ours are definitely not as developed and as their phasers, our tasers and stun guns do the same job as their phasers on stun mode.

·       While this one is quite a difference in scale, they have similar purposes. Although they may not be moving ships from place to place, they do use laser beams of light to hold and move microscopic objects.

·       While this one has yet to be officially created NASA has found a solution to possibly being able to warp time and space in travel

-       So, these are just the basic facts about the Star Trek movie

  • It was confirmed that the Star Trek movie by J.J. Abrams, which is simply named "Star Trek", is not just a prequel to or a reissue of The Original Series (TOS) with new actors in familiar roles. In fact, "Star Trek (2009)" will tell a totally different story.
  • "Star Trek (2009)" takes place in an altered timeline, and this would not be a first time in Star Trek. Also, as the idea of the multiverse (more precisely the many-worlds interpretation) are a seriously considered concept of quantum mechanics, it would be scientifically correct as well.
  • Also, in almost all other movie or TV franchises the idea of a multiverse as a conscious way to justify the reboot of the existing continuity would be totally absurd. Even if the "old" universe still exists in some way, there will be no ties any longer between this one and the "new" on created by Abrams. There will be no interchangeability. Irrespective of a possible scientific loophole to cross over we wouldn't honestly expect a quite probable movie "Star Trek XII" or a possible spin-off TV series set in the new universe to ever depart to the old universe, at least not on a regular basis.
  • He directed and produced Star Trek, the eleventh film in the Trek franchise released on 8 May 2009. He also directed and produced the sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness, which had its world premiere on 23 April 2013. On the next sequel, Star Trek Beyond, Abrams worked as producer. Abrams' first foray into films was the 1982 science fiction/horror movie Nightbeast, for which he was a composer and sound effects editor. Abrams acquired his claim to fame and a huge fan base as the creator of the popular television shows Felicity and Alias. He also served as executive producer on both of these series. Star Trek writers Orci and Kurtzman worked with Abrams on Alias. Abrams and fellow Star Trek producer Damon Lindelof later became two of the creators and executive producers of the acclaimed, hit ABC television series Lost, which stars Terry O'QuinnDaniel Dae Kim, and Sam Anderson.
  • production details were kept confidential by creating fake titles. Bad Robot Productions, J.J. Abrams’s company behind the reboot, officially called the movie Corporate Headquarters. For those working at the different locations, various titles were used for the paperwork, signage used, and permits, all of which had personal connections. Kathy McCury called the film “Untitled Walter Lace Project” after her grandfather. Scott Trimble honored his great-granduncle, who drowned in beer while working at the Anheuser-Busch factory, by calling Star Trek “The Ernest Castelhun Chronicles. Golden Swenson, because he had twin step-daughters, used “Christa & Christan’s Big Adventure.” And Steve Woroniecki decided to call the movie “Untitled Black Allen Project” after his son. This was done in order to keep the movie as secretive as possible for as long as possible. Abrams wanted this movie to come out as a surprise to fans and wanted to try and reduce the risk of exposure as much as possible. He even went as far as not allowing the actors and actresses to be seen in their costumes aside from there assigned set, so even from going from set to set they needed to wear a black drape over their clothing, along with security guards by their side as they ran lines. They went to every measure possible to make sure this movie came out with a bang.
  • California served as different locations for the movie. Kirk’s hometown in Iowa? Bakersfield, California. The Starfleet Academy? CSU Northridge. The Enterprise’s engine room? A Budweiser plant in Van Nuys, of all things. Perhaps strangest, the ice planet of Delta Vega scenes was shot in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium.
